Athlete of the Week: Jake Sande

DULUTH, Minn.- With the collegiate athletic seasons coming to a close and awards being given out, this week’s feature is on St. Scholastica baseball pitcher Jake Sande. The junior has been named UMAC pitcher of the year. The Hayward, Wisconsin native is the program’s first to receive this award since Jordan Risse in 2016.

In his 29.2 innings pitched in league play, Sande did not allow a single earned run. He tied for the conference lead with five wins and finished 3rdin the UMAC with a .184 opposing batting average. Sande led his team with a total of 7 wins on the mound. In the 2019 season Sande finished with an ERA of 3.63.
