High school events to resume Thursday?

After two days of postponed events due to brutally sub-zero temperatures and near-record low wind chills, several local high school sports teams are expected to resume regular season play Thursday.

Just in: All Duluth Public Schools will be closed and all events postponed again Thursday.

Boys Basketball

Hermantown (12-4) visits Bemidji at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Hawks have won three straight, including an 80-74 home victory over Duluth East last Friday night.

Duluth East (12-6) plays host to North St. Paul at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Duluth Denfeld (6-8) visits Virginia at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (POSTPONED) and Detroit Lakes at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Duluth Marshall (7-5) is idle until Thursday, Feb. 7, when the Hilltoppers host Hermantown.

Proctor (10-6) visits Cloquet (8-9) at 7:15 p.m. Friday.

Esko (10-7) hosts Barnum (5-10) on Friday at 7:15 p.m.

Two Harbors (5-9) visits Silver Bay (6-8) at 6:15 p.m. Thursday and Cook County at 4:45 p.m. Saturday.

Lakeview Christian Academy (12-5) visits East Central at 4:45 p.m. and Nashwauk-Keewatin at 7:15 p.m. Friday.

Boys Hockey

Hermantown (14-3-1) visits Cloquet (11-9) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Mahtomedi (14-3-1) at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Duluth Marshall (4-14-1) visits Chanhassen at 7 p.m. Friday and St. Thomas Acaemy at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Duluth East (12-6-2) hosts Superior (15-4) at 5:15 p.m. Thursday (POSTPONED) and visits Elk River-Zimmerman at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Duluth Denfeld (9-6-3) hosts Hibbing at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (POSTPONED) and visits Pine City Area at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Proctor (6-13-1) plays host to North Shore (4-12-2) at 7 p.m. Monday.

Girls Basketball

Duluth East (4-14) hosts Bemidji at 6:30 p.m. Thursday (POSTPONED) .

Duluth Denfeld (2-13) hosts Proctor (14-5) at 7:15 p.m. Friday.

Duluth Marshall (14-4) visits Hermantown (10-9) at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.

Hermantown hosts Duluth Marshall on Thursday and visits Hibbing at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
