DULUTH, Minn.- This week’s feature is on the current batting average leader for the Duluth Huskies and that would be outfielder Kyle Jacobsen.
The Acworth, GA native joined the team halfway through the summer but has certainly made up for lost time, recording 20 hits, 15 runs, 2 home runs and 10 RBI in 15 games, posting a batting average of .426.
This past spring at Hillsborough Community College, the lefty batter finished with an average of .359 including 30 RBI. As for his fielding percentage with the Hawks, just as impressive, .985 percent.
If you want to see Jacobsen and the rest of the Huskies in action, well you better pray for a playoff berth as their last regular season home game is Friday (8/9) night and then Huskies close out the remainder of the regular season on the road in Willmar on Saturday and Sunday.
