Back to Back: Bulldogs Shutout Minutemen to Become National Champions Once Again

BUFFALO, NY.- Minnesota Duluth came out guns blazing Saturday night dominating the University of Massachusetts in 3-0 shutout win to claim their second consecutive national title.

The Bulldogs wasted no time getting things started. Just 3:51 into the first period, captain Parker Mackay capitalized on the power play back handing a shot top shelf to give his team the 1-0 lead. The momentum continued into the second and third periods with goals by Mikey Anderson and Jackson Cates. But the real hero was none other than goaltender Hunter Shepard with a perfect game finishing with 18 saves and not allowing a single goal.

The Bulldogs finish the season with a record of 29-11-2, the second-most wins in program history. UMD now has a 27-12 record in all-time tournament play which is the best record in the country.
