BUFFALO, NY.- After the first two goals being recalled, Minnesota-Duluth was finally able to put up a total of 4 goals, including two empty nets, to get the 4-1 victory over Providence College in the Frozen Four semifinals. The Bulldogs now advance to the NCAA Championship game for the third consecutive year.
Justin Richards (2), Billy Exell and Dylan Samberg all scored to to carry their team to victory. Meanwhile, the unstoppable Hunter Shepard was between the pipes only allowing one goal with a total of 28 saves.
The Bulldogs now prepare for Saturday’s final game where they will face University of Massachusetts, a program who is making their championship game debut. Puck drop is set for 7:03 pm. Tune into 92.1 FM for the live game broadcast.
