DULUTH, Minn.- Hermantown native and UMD softball powerhouse Jordyn Thomas has been nothing short of exceptional during her time as a Bulldog. Thomas, only a sophomore, gave the bulldog lineup the strength it needed in her freshman season hitting in the middle of the order. Finishing her first season with the fifth highest batting average of .321, she was also ranked 23rd in the nation in home runs which was the fifth most among freshman. In that same season Thomas became the first bulldog to hit three home runs in a game and the first to hit consecutive home runs in three straight at bats.
Thomas is currently sitting at a .339 average with 7 doubles, a triple, four home runs and sixteen RBIs. What makes Thomas even more unique is that she was initially a two sport athlete at UMD as she was also a member of the basketball team. Thomas and the rest of the Bulldogs are in action Friday for a double header against Minot State.
