The local high school boys basketball playoffs resume today, with quarterfinals scheduled in Section 7AAAA and 7AAA.

The pairings for each section tourney:

SECTION 7AAAA QUARTERFINALS
St. Francis (5-21) at Blaine (19-7)
Coon Rapids (9-17) at Anoka (12-13)
Forest Lake (7-19) at Duluth East (17-8)
Andover (5-20) at Cambridge-Isanti (14-12)

SECTION 7AAA QUARTERFINALS
North Branch (5-21) at Princeton (23-3)
Grand Rapids (9-16) at Cloquet (13-13)
Duluth Denfeld (11-14) at Hermantown (16-9)
Chisago Lakes (7-19) at Hibbing (20-6)

Ryan Sandelin of Hermantown has been slotted as the 30th best player in the history of the prestigious Minnesota high school boys hockey tournament, according to the widely-read MN Boys’ Hockey Hub (mnhockeyhub.com).

Sandelin, a righthanded power forward who will play for Minnesota State Mankato next season, is ranked higher than Minnesota high school hockey legends Jamie Langenbrunner (No. 73), Blake Wheeler (47), Phil Housley (42) and Neal Broten (32), among many other notables. —  Facebook.com/HermantownSchools
