Mike Randolph: ‘No one expects us to do anything in the playoffs’

Duluth East boys hockey coach Mike Randolph, on his players embracing an underdog role against favorite Andover in the upcoming Section 7AA tournament:

No one expects us to do anything in the playoffs. I think our players’ mindset is prove everybody wrong, and starting next Tuesday that’s our goal. Everybody kind of gave up on this team, but that doesn’t really matter. It’s only noise outside the locker room, and all I care about is what’s inside that locker room. These guys believe in each other and we’re looking forward to going to war.
