The Bulldogs salvaged a National College Hockey Conference series split at Colorado College with a 6-0 win Saturday, backstopped by Hunter Shephard, who finished with 23 saves and posted his fifth shutout of the season.

Six different players scored goals for UMD, which played perhaps its worst game of the season in a 4-1 loss against the Tigers on Friday night.

The Bulldogs, eight points back of league-leading St. Cloud State and in second-place in the eight-team conference, is idle next weekend.

The Bulldogs women’s hockey team upset second-ranked Minnesota 3-2 in overtime on Saturday in Minneapolis. Naomi Rogge scored the game-winning goal and Maddie Rooney had 42 saves for UMD.
