CLOQUET, Minn.- The Cloquet- Carlton girl’s soccer team punched their ticket to the state tournament Thursday night, defeating Chisago Lakes 3-2. This week’s feature is on the girl who got the Lumberjacks on the board after being down 1-nil at the half in that section final game.
Just a sophomore, Katie Turner has played a vital roll on this Lumberjacks team all season as the leading goal scorer. The forward played in all 16 regular season games finishing with a total of 16 goals and 4 assists, leading Cloquet-Carlton to an impressive record of 14-2. Tuner then went on to score 4 goals and 3 assists in the section tournament to rack up a total of 20 goals and 7 assists heading into state.
To see Turner and the rest of the Lumberjacks in action, the first round of the state tournament begins on October 22nd.
